J.S.Campbell Photography | Night Driving

Before making the complete move to Fayetteville I carpooled for a few months back to Hope AR with a friend of mine who was also making the move to be with his fiance. We both worked the weekend shift at the local mental health center in Hope. So, for about three months it was at least a four hour drive (depending on who was driving) in on Friday morning and another coffee fueled drive back to the sanity and serenity of Fayetteville at 11:00 Sunday night. I did not often take my camera on these trips simply because I had no where safe to store it. The few times I did have my camera with me I took the opportunity to sit it on the dash or point it out a window just to see what I would get. As it turned out the interstate neon was agreeable to me. The constant streams of promises for your last beer, last chance for gas or a clean bathroom mixed with headlights, taillights and fast food restaurants galore, turned into abstract creations that can not be duplicated. So while the company was good, the coffee sometimes good, and the bathrooms never quite as clean as the sign suggested the images were well worth the trip.
